Cacao is incredible, why on earth would you roast away all the goodness?

Our chocolate is not only sourced from the best of the Ecuadorian cocoa farms, it is also raw. We like to keep it that way, our methods ensure that we preserve as much of natures original goodness as possible - hence why we have six times more flavanols than comparable chocolate brands. We treat our chocolate like a health food - because it is - and therefore we only use the healthiest ingredients such as unrefined coconut sugar, real fruit and live cultures.

Every day more and more research shows that dark chocolate is good for our health… and raw chocolate is even better. Great, but raw chocolate can be bitter and grainy - why should you comprimise on taste to be healthy? We have worked hard to deliver the smooth deliciousness associated with traditional premium chocolate and we’re very proud of our awards!

Richard's Visit to Ecuador

The most important ingredient in Ombars is of course, cacao.  We use cacao from Ecuador; a fine flavoured variety called Nacional Arriba which is indigenous to Ecuador.  Our co-founder, Richard, recently went to source to meet the farmers growing Ombar's cacao and to better understand the process our cacao goes through before we receive it.
