Cook time: 15 minutes

Serves: 18

  • 2 packets Ombar buttons (72% or Coco Mylk)
  • 115 g vegan butter
  • 175 g light brown sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 flax egg or 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 275 g plain flour
  • 1/2 tsp bicarbonate of soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp cornflour
  • 70g finely chopped Ombar 60% (72% & Coco Mylk will work too)

  • Preheat your oven to 180C fan
  • Beat together your butter and sugar until fluffy, and then add in vanilla and flax egg (or acv if using) and beat again until smooth
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together your flour, salt, bicarbonate of soda and cornflour, and then add in to the other mix
  • Add in the finely chopped chocolate and mix till combined
  • Using a cookie scoop or a teaspoon, get some cookie dough and flatten slightly in your hand, and add 2 or 3 buttons to the middle
  • Roll into a ball, making sure the dough surrounds the buttons fully
  • Line 2-3 large trays with parchment paper - and add 6 cookies to each tray. Make sure you leave space between each cookie, as they will spread
  • Bake in the oven for 11-13 minutes, or until golden. The less you bake, the more gooey they will be!
