Pancakes with Ombar Coco Mylk

What you’ll need:

Equipment:

  • Mixing bowl
  • 1 cup measurement
  • Sieve
  • Whisk (preferably an electric one for ease)
  • Tablespoon and teaspoon
  • Frying pan
  • Glass bowl
  • Small to medium sized saucepan

Ingredients:

Pancake Ingredients

For the Pancakes:

  • 1 cup of flour
  • 1 tablespoon unrefined organic coconut sugar (or a sugar of your choice)
  • 2 tablespoons baking powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 cup nut milk (or your preferred milk alternative)
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil

To Serve:

  • Ombar Coco Mylk chocolate bars or Buttons
  • Strawberries
  • Bananas

Directions:

Making the pancakes:

  1. Set out all your ingredients
  2. Sieve the flour into the mixing bowl and add sugar, baking powder and salt
  3. Add the nut milk and vegetable oil to your mixture
  4. Whisk the mixture together until smooth
  5. Heat up your frying pan on the hob to a medium heat with a little oil
  6. Spoon one pancake’s worth of mixture into the pan. The amount will vary depending on how big you want your pancakes, though you could use a 1/3 cup measure to be more precise
  7. When you see bubbles in the middle of the pancake, or if the edges are looking stiffened, carefully flip the pancake
  8. Once the bottom of the pancake is golden brown and no longer doughy, remove the pancake from the pan
  9. Repeat steps 6 through 8 until you have used up all your batter

To serve:

For the ultimate Ombar pancake experience we suggest stacking your pancakes and toppings on top of each other to create one glorious pancake tower!

  1. Slice your bananas and strawberries into flat slices
  2. Lay the first pancake on the plate
  3. Arrange banana slices and Ombar segments around the edge of the pancake
  4. Add another pancake on top
  5. Arrange strawberry slices and Ombar segments around the edge of the pancake
  6. Add another pancake on top
  7. Repeat steps 3 to 6 until you have used up all your pancakes
  8. Arrange the leftover fruit and Ombar segments on the top of the stack
  9. Break up a bar of Ombar Coco Mylk and place in a glass bowl with a tablespoon of nut milk, then very gently melt over a saucepan of simmering water, stirring constantly
  10. Drizzle your melted chocolate over your stack of pancakes
