Ombar Chocolate is an exciting brand of delicious chocolate that delivers the healthy goodness of raw cacao without compromising on taste. Based an hour outside of London, in Cambridge, UK, we make all of our chocolate in our own, purpose-built factory.

Our methods ensure that we preserve as much of nature's original goodness as possible, sourcing the cacao from only the best, sustainable Ecuadorian farms, and keeping it raw. We treat our chocolate like a health food - because it is - and therefore we use only the healthiest ingredients such as unrefined coconut sugar, real fruit and live cultures. Our chocolate is 100% organic, dairy-free, refined sugar-free and gluten free, because we believe in doing good for the planet and for our bodies.

Ombar started in a small kitchen, born out of the desire to bring the health benefits of cacao to people by redefining and redesigning chocolate as a healthy food. The same desire exists today and informs everything we do.

We’re a small, but growing core team, with an extended network of freelancers and agencies spread around Europe.

Job Summary

We’re seeking a dynamic field sales executive to help grow the Ombar brand in the UK. You will be driving sales within the organic, coffee shop and food-to-go sectors, and assisting the in-house sales team and sales director to achieve UK sales targets. This is an exciting role for a passionate, self-motivated individual to identify new sales opportunities and to build upon existing relationships.

  • This is a full-time, permanent position (40 hours per week) with occasional weekend work required for trade and consumer fairs
  • Based in London, with one day per week in the head office in Cambridge
  • Salary dependent on experience, plus commission
  • Occasional travel outside of London and Cambridge may be required

Organisational Relationships

You’ll be working in close collaboration with and reporting to the Sales Director. You’ll also be working with the Managing Director, other sales team members and the Marketing Manager.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Field sales working within London to introduce Ombar to existing and potential new accounts
  • Identify and contact new business leads to introduce the brand
  • Contact our existing customer database to build relationships and increase orders
  • Manage and respond to new sales inquiries generated through our website
  • Build long-lasting relationships with customers
  • Meet team sales targets
  • Maintain accurate records of customer contacts
  • Maintain and expand customer database
  • Regularly report and provide feedback to Sales Director, sales team and Marketing Manager
  • Occasionally work on-stand at trade and some consumer fairs, primarily in London

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies:

  • Strong interest in sales and building relationships
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to build and maintain long-term relationships with customers at all levels
  • Fluency in a foreign language is useful, but not essential
  • Strong initiative, self-starter and ability to work independently
  • Highly organised and an ability to work under pressure
  • An individual who thrives on challenges, targets and shifting priorities

Education/Experience

  • Proven sales experience whether field or telesales
  • Preferably educated to degree level, but not essential as long as you can demonstrate the right aptitude for sales
  • Preferred experience of working within FMCG and an understanding of, or at least an interest in the healthy food/healthy lifestyle industry
  • Experience working with QuickBooks and CRMs would be helpful
