Ombar Chocolate is an exciting brand of delicious chocolate that delivers the healthy goodness of raw cacao without compromising on taste. Based an hour outside of London, in Cambridge, UK, we make all of our chocolate in our own, purpose-built factory.

Our methods ensure that we preserve as much of nature's original goodness as possible, sourcing the cacao from only the best, sustainable Ecuadorian farms, and keeping it raw. We treat our chocolate like a health food - because it is - and therefore we use only the healthiest ingredients such as unrefined coconut sugar, real fruit and live cultures. Our chocolate is 100% organic, dairy-free, refined sugar-free and gluten free, because we believe in doing good for the planet and for our bodies.

Ombar started in a small kitchen, born out of the desire to bring the health benefits of cacao to people by redefining and redesigning chocolate as a healthy food. The same desire exists today and informs everything we do.

We’re a small, but growing core team, with an extended network of freelancers and agencies spread around Europe.

Job Summary

We’re seeking a talented, self-directed, freelance marketing executive to help raise the profile of Ombar in The Netherlands. You will be driving the execution of the centralised marketing agenda across a range of marketing and communication channels and providing marketing support to the regional sales team.

  • This is a part-time (20 hours per week), self-employed post
  • Temporary contract of 3 months, with potential for extension to longer term
  • Based in Amsterdam, from home or remote office location
  • Salary dependent on experience

Organisational Relationships

You’ll be working in close collaboration with and reporting to the Marketing Manager, as well as the Managing Director and Sales Director, all in the UK head office. You’ll also be working with the distributor in Holland, and potentially third party vendors in the areas of PR, marketing and events.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Regional execution and day-to-day management of centralised marketing strategy and campaigns through various channels, primarily social media
  • Plan and manage blogger outreach, social media campaigns, active and passive sampling, reporting, insights and recommendations
  • Ensure the localisation and translation of all marketing content and collateral
  • Attend regular meetings (via Skype and phone) with the UK head office and report on marketing activities
  • Assist in managing assigned marketing budget for the region

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies

  • Strong interest social media platforms
  • Thorough understanding of brand engagement, influencer and digital trends
  • A combination of creativity and analytical skills
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Must have the ability to communicate and collaborate confidently with team members at varying levels.
  • Dutch native or bilingual proficiency; English full professional proficiency
  • Strong initiative, self-starter and ability to work independently
  • A can-do attitude and positive mindset
  • Occasional travel (regional) may be required

Education/Experience

  • Proven experience in managing social media platforms
  • Educated to degree level, preferably in a related subject
  • At least 2 years’ experience in a marketing or communications role
  • Preferred experience of working within FMCG and an understanding of, or at least an interest in the healthy food/healthy lifestyle industry
